Textiles
Chiapanecan textiles represent one of the most important cultural and traditional attractions of our entity, as they have centuries of history and creativity worth admiring worldwide.
Traditionally these textiles are created using a waist loom, a pre-Hispanic technique where the artisan, through a methodical process of thread count, creates a piece of cloth of incredible beauty, due to its handmade process each work is unique.

Ámber
Chiapas is the only amber producer in Mexico and its people offered it as a tribute in pre-Hispanic times.
The hands of the artisan delve into the bowels of the earth around Simojovel, looking for amber, the resin that dates back approximately 40 million years ago and has been frozen for all that time. Then they work it and deliver it in the form of heart, drop, bird or tree, or in which the imagination invents.
Pottery
Chiapanec potters preserve the conception of shape, color, decorations and use as symbols of cultural identity.
Pottery is a trade extended by all regions of the State of Chiapas and is carried out both in indigenous and mestizo communities. The most commonly used technique is hand molding and open burning; in addition to the use of the lathe, molds and pastillage. It is common to use natural mud for the finished ones, even when the decorations with mineral envelopes, the burnishing and the sgraffing are used.
